This project began as a cramped one bedroom apartment with a small space subdivided into an interior room with no light and a small adjacent bedroom. The first step in the renovation involved demolition of all interior walls and relocation of every plumbing point. The studio makes use of 12-foot ceilings to create a lofted bedroom and concealed storage area over a cube enclosing the bathroom, kitchen, and closet. The addition of the loft frees up floor space and makes the apartment feel much larger than its original size.
